WHAT EXACTLY IS NET METERING?
You store excess solar energy in the grid and use it as needed. The electricity you import from the grid and the solar electricity you export to the grid will be recorded using a bidirectional electricity metre that will be installed at your home for the first time. If you export more electricity than you import from the grid at the end of the month, the electricity board owes you money.
If you imported more electricity from the grid, you will only be charged by the electricity board for the excess consumption after deducting your solar savings.
