The use of solar energy to heat water has come a long way in the past ten years, notably with the introduction of evacuated tube collectors (ETC), which are quickly becoming the most popular choice. Flat plate systems (FPC) are the best option for pressured solutions, whereas ETC systems are the most cost-effective option when there is no requirement for additional pressure. Evacuated Glass Tube Collectors(ETC): The Most Economical Solution
On an Indian sunny day, Skyenergy’s ETC systems heat water from 25 to 65 degrees Celsius in about 4-5 hours using large diameter “3-target” glass tubes.
The ceramic-coated tanks used in Skyenergy’s ETC systems have high density polyurethane foam insulation for increased heat retention.
